Really weird, PC has recently developed this problem: On clicking shutdown, the usual options, shutdown, restart, log off come up. Clicking restart does what it says on the tin but clicking shutdown has no effect and I have to switch off PC at mains, the problem with that is the auto disk checker then comes up on restart. Any ideas?

Hi Bg9208, Have you Googled XP shutdown problems? Quite a lot of helpful info provided and I seem to recollect Windows auto updates can cause this problem. Neil ;)
