I would suspect corruption in the System Restore files ....

I suggest you turn off System Restore which will clear out all the old files, reboot and re-enable System Restore.

Then make a manual System Restore point and test.

Try system restore from Safe Mode.
Is there any particular reason, you want to use system restore?

No, as I posted above turning off System Restore deletes all the existing restore points.

You have another option you may want to try first. By default, 12% of your HDD is reserved for System Restore. Instead of turning off system restore completely, one can reduce the amount of space currently allocated to these files and then attempt to run it. For example, go into System Restore and change the setting from 12% to 8% or even 6%. Exit and re-enter System Restore and try your restoration again. Note - this will eliminate some of your older restore points but it won't wipe all of them out.

    ;)

    Did you try Safe Mode?

    Hi sree2403

What applications are malfunctioning? Do you get any error messages? If so, what are they? Are you able to boot normally?

The reason I ask is because System Restore won't fix your applications issues.

Post back with what's causing the problem(s) and any error messages you might get.
