    Hi,
I just upgraded to Windows XP Pro and I cannot get my printer to work or be recognized. The printer was working fine with Windows 2000 but now Windows XP Pro won't even find the printer port or printer on it's own. I tried manually installing the printer port and printer and the printer is listed in the driver database but as soon as I try and print a test page it comes back with a error and won't print. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

The printer is a local printer and it's a HP 660c.

Suggest you start over on this ....

Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes and remove all references to HP660c.

Reboot to be sure all references to HP660c are removed.

Go to Device Manager and check that there is no problem with LPT1 - assume this is a parallel port printer?

Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > Add Printer and follow the Wizard through. Note this will not be a Plug and Pray printer :) so don't check that box.

If you still get an error message post it here.
