Please start a new thread on a new subject - I have split your post to a new thread.

I am not sure that I fully understand your post - fill out some more details, please ....

Was the recovery using F10 successful and does the computer boot?

If the Recovery program has been used the hard drive is probably restored to the state it was in when the computer was delivered so all data and programs installed subsequently are lost. I am not familiar with HP computers and do not know how their recovery works, but that is the usual situation.

Did the computer crash after recovery when Windows updates were applied?
This implies that either the system has been recovered in which case there will be a single restore point at the most or that System Restore was turned off.

If the computer is running those updates which can be removed - not all can - may be removed through Add/Remove Programs - check the Show Updates box at the top of the window. Uninbstalling updates will not remove any personal data - just the updates.

    Please clarify the situation.
