Hello everyone, new here. I have a wierd problem, and don't know if this has happened before. I am trying to reinstall windows XP Pro SP1 (lost my SP2 cd) and everytime it makes copies of the files to the c:Windows folder I get these errors saying the file cannot be copied correctly like the ks.sys file, for example. I tried to reformat before the install but same problem. Then I tried to us my ghost image of the disk but get some PQI error or something and the restore fails. Any help or suggestion would be a big help.

    AMD X2 Dual
    2 gb ram
    250gb Sata HD

Thank You In Advance for ANY help

Are you using an original XP cd or a copy?

The cd or cd drive could be dirty.

I am using a copy of it that my school gives the students online. I made a cd from the iso image that I downloaded. I used the cd about 3 weeks ago on my friends laptop and no problems.

Also forgot to add this that before trying to install a fresh copy of XP I could not logon into my account. I would get all these errors like winlogon memory error press ok to end or cancel to debug, and then by CLI.exe file (graphics card) would get the same error, and then windows hangs right when my background changes.
