I am about to get a new computer and was wondering what version of XP would be best. Professional has added features that I read that I would like, but this is for 'home' use, and I was wondering if Professional is just HOME plus extra or Home plus some minus some... What would you suggest I do?

To be fair, there are many people, including people in this group, that use Home and are very satisfied with it.

Personally, never knowing where my interests or needs will lead me, I prefer to have options available for possible future use. And the Group Policy that Pro includes was used immediately for tweaking and control.

Any options or services in Pro that you don't want/need can be turned off.
