Hi, shansta. Of course, you need to relieve the stress of work with an occasional Hearts game. ;)

I have no idea why Hearts disappeared. Since I'm merely a "Tinkerer" the first thing I usually do when such an anomaly occurs is reboot. If that isn't successful for running Hearts, then you can investigate to see if Hearts is installed.

You may want to check to see if you have Hearts installed by doing the following.

    1. Click Start
    2. Click Set Program Access and Defaults.
      • If this menu item is not visible to you then click My Computer > Control Panel.
      • Then click (or double-click) Add/Remove Programs.
    3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components
    4. Click Accessories and Utilities if it's not already highlighted. (Click on the title...not the box next to it.)
    5. Click on the Details... button
    6. Click on Games (Click on the title...not the box next to it.)
    7. Click on the Details... button

There should be a check mark in the box next to "Hearts" if Hearts is installed. If not, you may be able to place a check mark in that box and install it. I expect you'll need to have your Windows XP CD handy for the installation.

If there is already a checkmark next to Hearts, then I'll defer to someone more experienced than me to offer you advice about how to get your access to Hearts back.

Shansta, it could be that the games are still there, only their shortcuts have been removed from the Start menu.

Try searching for mshearts.exe in c: drive. You would get all your games in the same directory. Create shortcuts again & place wherever you require them.

    Thank You!
After following "mailman" - the "internet" versions of the games came back.
And then after following "rsinfo" - I was able to find the other version of the games (not on the internet) and create shortcuts!

Love this website! Just wondering though...what would have caused that to happen? :)
