windows xp fault [partition error]

    My windows xp just got a problem and stopped opening. I tried everything but now I cannot even transfer the information to a new drive. It tells me the information is there but it will not transfer because of a pertition problem. Any ideas antone I am sorry to say I have no backup and it has 2 years info that will be lost.:mad::mad:

    You should tell us the wording of the error message you receive, although there won't be many possibilities where it talks about the partition.

    The hard disk drive manufacturer's utilities may also have a facility to "update the MBR ". After that, you may need to look for data recovery programs, there are a few freeware ones available, but most are pay-for. Try www.majorgeeks.com, www.tucows.com, www.cnet.com

    I think you know that having a backup is the easy way. Recovery is the hard or costly way.
