WIndows XP Control panel Add remove ICON

    My Add Remove programs ICON will not respond and gives an error which includes file MLCFG32.cpl.

    I also note that the Text below this Icon is missing

    guillame - Welcome to the Board :)

    If you go to Start > Run and type in appwiz.cpl > Enter does Add/Remove open?

    If it does it is probably a problem with the shortcut so run System File Checker ....

    Start > Run > sfc /scannow > Enter.

    If it doesn't open run SFC anyway.

    Yes that command works and I m running sfc Scannow.
    I am also having a windows installer problem, (missing MSI.dll) and partially solved it using a great free product called Dial-a-Fix
