Every time I reboot my laptop, the system restore points are deleted. I have searched the web and found a few suggestions, none of which help. My problem is that I do not have multiple versions of Windows installed, do not have disk capacity problems and have tried disabling all startups via MSCONFIG. None of those solve it. Running VSSADMIN from elevated command line does not show anything abnormal. The laptop is a fairly new Acer Aspire.
    Any help or guidance appreciated.

Have you run SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt?

Hi Tango19. SFC checks that the files in the Windows folder are the correct versions. If SFC finds any corrupted Windows files it replaces it with the correct version of the file. Go ahead and run the SFC command and see if anything has changed with the restore points.
