Resolved Windows updates - what?

    I just activated three updates that were waiting to be installed. Two of them were for Office 2007, which I don't have (still using 2003).

    Surely those clowns can test what software you've got before doing updates for stuff you don't have!!

    I use Office 2003 and get ones for 2007 sometimes. Must be the same exact update for what ever it is updating for office as if they haven't change something from 2003 to 2007. Probably makes it easier for them to do. Never had a problem with any of them. If you look at Installed updates, bet that you see a few of them for 2007.

    Get them for XP, Win 7 and Win 8 this way.

    That explains it. Thanks, Christer. I still don't understand why they came back for installation three times. In the end I deselected them and they went away.

    Arie - I didn't keep tabs on the KB numbers, but the titles look the same.

    I sat on my hands and in a few days, the problem (detection) was fixed. See Multiple (Sept) Windows Update Patches botched (Again!)
