Not sure is this belongs in Vista or General Security? But, since the problems I had with the August updates(lost my internet connection) I have disabled auto windows update and enabled Windows to notify me of updates and let me select whether I want to download and install them. Since doing this I now get a warning from Norton Internet Security that my windows auto update is not turned on. Is there a way to cancel this warning without enabling windows auto update?

    Thanks,

    Marvin

Have you looked through all the various setting and option within Norton Internet Security?

I shut off the "Norton Protection Center Service" to be rid of the same nag in XP. No Norton in my Vista install, so I can't check to see if it's the same.

    Johanna,

Thanks for the info. I found it in options and turned the auto windows update alert.
