When I visit the windows update page, it scans and tells me there are updates to download and I have the option to push the "Update Now" button on the right corner, however on the menu on the left the "pick updates to install" and "review and install updates" are greyed out. I can push the "Update Now" button and it downloads something and goes right back to the same option. I have automatic updates enabled on this computer. Can't understand why i can't pick and choose my updates and why it doesnt seem to install them when I click the "Update now" button.

Depending on how you have Automatic Updates configured, they may have already been installed, or already downloaded ready for you to pick and install. To check AutoUpdate configuration, start/control panel/system, auto update tab. Hope this helps.

Finally figured it out. Had the Cryptographic services disabled. Enabled it and everything is fine. Thanks!
