How do you get rid of the window that pops up just before Win xp loads on boot asking for user and password? Way to bypass so I don't have to hit ok each time. Forgot where you do this. Thanks.

    my .02

if u'r on a network and/or have internet access via any machine running a multiuser os (nt/xp/2k/other), it's a really bad idea to bypass user/password in my book. particularly win since it defaults any user account for the most part to 'admin' level

u should not only have a user/pass but the pass should be complex - meaning upper/lower case + numeric or non-alpha characters invovled

It's just me using this comp at home, with only WIN XP media on it. There's no way to disable the logon box other than editing the registry?

I thought it did it. It does it for the first boot. Then when the comp is inactive and I use it again, a window pops up needing to be ok-ed again for user name.

Control Panel->Power icon->disable the prompt for password when going into standby.
