To cut the longest of long stories short. I have a legit, is there and other? piece of report writing software. I had a system crash and on trying to reinstall had lots of problems.. I was advised by the support staff at Amtech the company publishing the offending software that I had to do a completely clean install as the Instance of SQL that the report writing software installs had not be uninstalled correctly. During this complete uninstall I was advised to use a Windows utility called Uninstall cleanup. This application when run displays a small rectangle in the list of installed programs. This item can not be uninstaled. the support staff claim that without this being removed there is nothing they can do they also claim they have never seen this before. Long question comes to an end with can any one help ? If you require any further information in order to help please ask.

    Steve thanks for your interest.
The software installs and does not report any problems. It does not install its short cut on the desk top and the .exe does not run the application. All the correct directories seem to be installed on the hard disc. It just wont run.
My concern is the rectangle shown by the Windows iuninstaller clean up, as it is the reason that Amtech are abrogating responcibility for ther inability to get me up and running.

Hi WS, what you are using is "Windows Install Cleanup "? If it shows your Software in it's collection, can you Highlight it and click on Remove? If there is no trace of your software shown you may to go into the Registry to remove it. You may need more expertise than I have in this area. Cheers. Neil.;)

What program are you trying to uninstall. Is the program listed in the Control Panel under Add and Remove Programs. What Operating System are you using. I might be able help you to navigate the registry path to possibly to uninstall the program.

    Steve:
Just ran accross "unistallers.blogspot.com" where they list all the things they can help someone uninstall just about everything. Put out by RaProducts Ultimate list of uninstallers. I don't know if this would be of any help as I have not used or heard of it before today.
