Using new system with Pentium 4 and Windows XP
I installed a DVD drive and downloaded WinDVD 6. in order to play or copy DVDs.
When I install a DVD I receive Error message as follows:
    DVD Encoder disabled. Solution:
Go to Windows/System32/dx.diag and click on ENABLE Button next to Direct Draw Accelerator.
When I do this, everything works fine.
The problem is that next time I reboot the computer, this setting has reverted back to DISABLED. There is no option to SAVE SETTINGS on this page. There is an option under the MORE HELP page where it is possible to click on OVERIDE DEFAULT. However this comes with a warning FOR USE BY ADMINISTRATOR ONLY. I have not tried using this yet, but it seems like the only option left to me. Can anyone offer advice. Thanks DJYoung
