Hello! Everytime I start up windows after i log in, there is a windows critical error sound that i hear. It is the sound that you would hear if a warning window or notification window were to pop up. However, nothing pops up. All I hear is the sound. I don't know what is the problem. Can someone please help me out? Thank you.

    superkoncept513 - Welcome to the Board :)

Bit difficult this - no popups, no info ....

Presumably the computer is functioning 100%?

Best suggestion is to look in Event Viewer for any flagged events occurring on startup ....

Right click My Computer icon > Manage > Event Viewer. Look under System and Application for any event flagged with a white cross on a red ground timed at bootup. Double click on the event to open and on the icon below the up/down arrows to copy to clipboard and paste in your next post in this thread.

The main problem appears to be with ShellHWDetection service - any solutions posted if you click the link to MS?

RIght click My Computer Icon > Manage > Services ....

    or

    Start > Run > Type in services.msc > Enter ....

Check that ShellHWDetection service is set to Automatic.

While you are in Services check that Wireless Zero Configuration Service (WZCSVC) is also set to Automatic.

As the error message states - Windows Defender is detecting C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\eRecovery\int15.sys as malware/spyware. If you had Defender set up to show as an icon in the Notification Area you would note an exclamation mark on the icon.

I suggest you set this file to Ignore in Defender - can't tell you how to do this as I do not use the program.
