I have two pieces of software that I have had since before XP. One is a schedule announcer that plays a wave sound of my choice that I selected when I entered the schedule item (Schedule Wiz).
The other is Clipmate that plays a wav file when certain actions take place.

I can play waves thru WMP or RealPlayer so I know the sound board and speakers are working.

However, I am told that Schedule Wiz uses the Windows API and I assume Clipmate does the same because neither will sound when desired.

I tried re-assigning different sounds to see if that made a difference.
How can I check this API or re-install it or substitute or ANYTHING to get them working.

You know the torture of getting in touch with the vender tech (DELL). Most of the time they cannot help anyway.

    Thanks for the link suferdude2,

I missed the original post. Checking into the board on a regular basis has been difficult for me lately. I must have been absent that day/week/month.

    To tenbob,
I did notice, while on the site for "schedule wizzard ", as of Jan. 1st, a new version was released. Schedule Wizard version 4.04. A slight mention of mp3/wav defaults issue, perk or tweak (<-unsure of which) has been added. Since you originally posted this issue in DEC., I am unsure if you have this build. I just thought I'd mention it.

Dubious on any further imput I can add to this problem since it looks like you tried to iron the kinks out, rather thoroughly, with the author of the software. If, between the two of you, you couldn't figure it out, what chance have I?
