I hope I explain this right. I noticed whenever I reboot or shutdown I'll get a quick flash of the windows blue screen a quick flash of my desktop. Then I'll get the normal windows shutting down blue screen. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to correct it. System restore doesn't fix it and I really don't want to reinstall windows. Thanks for any help.

Don't think that is a problem - can't give you an explanation though :) May just be the way Windows kills off running apps.

Thanks for your quick response. Maybe it was happening all along and I just noticed it yesterday. It seems weird. Its so quick I can't pause the screen. If you happen to think of anyway to stop it will be greatly appreciated and thank you for your help.

Sometimes I even see a quick flash of whatever picture I used to have on the desktop... I wouldn't worry about it, or try to "fix" that problem you are describing. The cure might be worse than what ails you!

But when you reboot XP, do NOT look at the blue bar on the splash screen... That is where the secret subliminal messages are kept, and too much exposure could cause you to fling money without discretion at Microsoft... (Oh, yeah, we already did that!)

Sort of like a sub-liminal cut(I hope I spelt that right). Ah that Gates is shrewd. So what do ya think Bill Gates for President.
