I have many photos in my windows photo gallery. Many are private and I don't want them visible as soon as I open windows photo gallery and would prefer to label them-- which they are all labeled/named- and then open them as I chose when I wish to view them.

I have been trying for quite a while to create a situation as I just mentioned but have been unable. I did find out how to collapse the photos that are in particular groups, however, as soon as I close the windows photo gallery and then reopen it -- bam! There it is again ALL photos completely visible and the collapse photos obviously did not stay collapsed.

I am not a computer whiz as I am sure u realize, however, I am having a hard time believing there is not a very simple solution to what I am trying to accomplish and am simply missing it.

Can only try so long so if any one knows how to do what I am trying, i would appreciate ur input.

    Thanks again:)

If it helps my OP system is windows Vista
This is a lap top if that means anything.

Well you can use Picasa 3 free Photo Managing program from Google it has a Hide function that works pretty well.
Secondly you can remove them from My Documents My Pictures and store them in a external drive and don't allow Picasa to watch that Drive and Folder.
Really there are many ways you can do that.

    Thanks Hawk

I have downloaded the google program you mentioned and once my schedule frees up I will try to use the program and let you know how I made out.

    Thanks again,

For any beginners reading this post because I noticed there were many viewers to the question the Google program Hawk mentioned was incredibly easy to download.
