I have recently reinstalled fresh windows. I reinstalled windows because My computer was having problems turning off, and because it had a trojan on it which was embedded in an software file. I got rid of the Trojan.

After reinstall, my computer went well for a week and this last week it has been having troubles turning off and opening iTunes. When I shut it down its just says shutting down with the that circular thing going round near the word shutting down. It is also having problems bringing up the 'safely remove hardware' panel.

My computer is an Acer Aspire 5536G, 2 years old. Running windows 7, 32-bit

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

I have updated to SP1, this was happening before i installed this and is continuing to happen afterwards. Should I use that hotfix right now? And see if it helps?

From what I gather it's included in SP1 but it won't do any harm to request and install the hotfix anyway.

Again, a small reminder for you to show your system details, it can and often does save time for people who are trying to help you.

    Ohk, Thanks!
Btw, still haven't solved the computer taking ages to shutdown. I uninstalled the bluetooth software and the computer seemed to be working good for 2 days and then it started not shutting down again... :(
That hot fix has no 32-bit version so I didn't download it.

209 events, mostly warnings, some 'errors' and a few 'criticals'. But when I clicked for online information nothing showed up.

OK, post some of the 2xx errors (200 series as indicated by the previous link) and look for a common issue with them.

Seemed like the issue was to do mainly with Avira Antivir but there were a couple for iTunes

Sound drivers appears to have been an issue in that other thread as well, try updating your sound card drivers. Failing that try another AV software.

Whilst on the subject though, how did you reinstall Windows 7. Are you sure the original malware issue has been resolved?

Hi, I have successfully installed a more up to date driver for the sound card ATI HD audio device. Thanks for that. I scanned for hardware changes also and, the driver for a fingerprint scanner I have is not installed because I don't want to use that anymore. Could this be a problem you reckon?

When I reinstalled windows just put Win7 Cd, deleted all partitions on HDD. Then when I had the fresh windows, I disabled autoplay and did a scan of my external HDD with Avira, found the virus and got rid of it there too. The reason it was on my external was because when I didn't delete the partition the first time I installed windows it save the windows files under 'windows.old'. Trojan is gone now though.
