Thank You very much for your past help on windows updates. My computer is now current with ALL microsoft critical updates EXCEPT for .NET 2.0 update to .NET 3.5. This update generates a error of 0x643 every time I attempt to instal it. I know this has to be something stupid, but I have run out of ideas as to how to overcome.

    Thanks in advance

A .cab file will not install on it's own - would you please clarify which method you are using .....

    Resolution > Method 1 > Fixit?

Method 1 Fix MSI software update registration corruption issuesTo fix MSI software update registration corruption issues automatically, click the Fix it button or link. Click Run in the View Download dialog box, and then follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.

In theory the Fixit should run by following the wizard through - you did select Run in the download box as indicated?

If the Fixit simply will not work I suggest you move onto Method 2 - towards the bottom of that section ....
I am out for the rest of this evening and will pick the thread up again tomorrow.
