Resolved windows MP 11 error 80070006

    I can't finish installing Windows media player 11. The "Web Help" icon going to Microsoft's website had no information on it.
    No more information I can give except I'm running Process Guard 3.5, and it dis-allowed a "hook" while installing wmp.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Mary

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

    My best suggestion is to restore your system to a date prior to installing WMP 11 - then disable Process Guard and your Antivirus - physically disconnect from the internet for safety and reinstall WMP 11. The blocked hook may be the cause of your problems.

    Remember to re-activate your AV before connecting to the Internet.

    Thanks - I re-installed it [again] and now it's working. I did have some viruses I caught with Rising antivirus which I caught from a torrent site.
