I know I'm outdated with XP but hey it still works:D

The question I have is I have created some movies with movie maker and now I wish to go and edit and add on to one of them. When I try to import the movie maker file in to movie maker the system does a hard lock and I need to shut down and reboot.

Is this the normal issue or do I need to import a different way?

For those who will ask, the size of the import is 17mb.

    Any help:confused:

I've never used Movie Maker, but.... Did you have a look at the Windows Movie Maker: frequently asked questions?

I've also found a registry tweak that might work:

    • Start regedit
    • Navigate to the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MM20
    • Right-click an empty space in the right pane and select New > DWORD Value
    • For the new registry key name, type DynamicSourcesforPreview, and enter the value 0
    • Close Registry Editor and restart Windows Movie Maker
