I have a new Acer 5517 with Windows 7. Evertime I start up the computer I have a pop up window asking me sign in to windows messenger. I have tried to stop it by going to the start up mesue and unchecking the progrem. I have also uncheked several items like remember me but regardless it continue to pop up.
Is ther any way to permanently remove the program from start up?

WinPatrol from winpatrol.com could be one option. Don't know if it works in Win 7 though.

I do not know this program. I was looking for a way to use my own computer resources to remove it from the start up

Since there is no messenger installed in Windows 7 by default, someone has installed it for you. So just go to Control Panel and click on Uninstall a program under Programs. Find the listing for Windows Live Essentials & run it to remove Windows Live Messenger.
