windows messenger signs on automatically

Hi everyone
I am having a problem with windows messenger I had to restore my computer and now eveytime I come online Windows messenger signs on.
I have went to Msconfig shut it off and also in tool options in messenger and its still coming up,,I am not sure if when I reinstalled the other messenger 6.1 if I set it up to come online(Broadband) not sure buts its annoying since its coming up and half the time I dont know I am on it lol.

so any ideas how to fix this

 

This one is easy!
Go to Start, Run and type or paste:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

reboot.

(Got that from Windows-help.net before I even knew there was a BBS board.)

PS It's not a great idea to disable things from MSConfig unless you are troubleshooting. A great start up tool is here.

Thanks that got rid of messenger 5 now 6 doesnt log on automatically so I think its fixed.

I went offline and restarted it didnt come on so Im glad you told me how to do it thanks again
