    Thanks to anyone who helps.
I'll probably get flamed as a noob, but i thought i'd ask anyway. I got a window pop up from nowhere saying Windows Messenger Handle, and some text (can't remember). So my question is, what the heck is it?

    Thanks

    Hi again Aperson
You won't get flamed here for asking questions. :)
Any chance it was just an ad? Or perhaps you have AOL
    Instant Messenger installed?
What all icons do you have down by your clock?

    No Antivirus or firewall?

Did this just happen the once..........or is it a recurring thing?

I have scorcher but it's kind of outdated. Norton won't work for me (says corrupt and crashed every time). McAffe won't either. When i need to scan for virus i use an online one. No firewall, and yes it only happened once. Never again.

Perhaps just use a free online scanner such as:
    Grisoft
    I just recently switched to AVG.....from Norton's. (It's free)
    Other online ones:
    Housecall
    Panda
    Symantec

    And for Trojans.....might I suggest:
    Tauscan
