Hi, I faced this problem and it take me lots of time.
After installing WindowsXP, I installed WMP11 and then install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 3.95.
But after that, every movies with wmv, avi, flv, dat.... played with WMP only in black and white!
I used to change setting in menu Tools > Option > Perfomance > Video Acceleration a million times, and it won't work!
I used to reinstall the codec and it won't work!
I used to reinstall WMP11 and it won't work, too!

The other players like KMPlayer, iTunes.... also play in black and white!
BUT WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC PLAY WITH TRUE COLOR!

I dont know how to solve this problem. I try to ghost the windows, but it won't work
    Can you help me?

I'm not sure that Media Player in color is any better.
I used to use Media Player, but have switched to iTunes, and find it much, much better.
If you want to get iTunes just do a Google search for iTunes and you'll find it. It has many more useful features, and I think is a lot more intelligently designed than Media Player.
    Good Luck!

    Oops!
I just noticed you included iTunes in the set of programs running in B&W!
    My bad.
Have never encountered that one before, so hopefully one of the guys w/ more experience will see this.
    Sorry guy.
