    Hi stebo
Can you tell us the exact error message you are getting?
If you want to just do a scandisk...... either do a ctrl/alt/del and endtask on everything but systra and explorer and run it, or do a scandisk in safe mode.
    How to do a scandisk.

Bring up your computer in safe mode (F8 while booting) and then run a scandisk and defrag.

You have a case of versionitis. Did you reboot when uninstalling whichever version of WMP before installing whatever version of WMP you currently are using?

Let's see, six minutes after you posted the above reply to this thread, you went and started a new thread, containing the exact same thing as above. I am not going to play hopscotch.

    I Agree.

Putting the same problem in more than one forum does NOTHING but cause confusion.

But it in ONE forum and stick with it via the replys.

YES. YES. YES to rebooting. The machine should be restarted after installing anything whetherr it asks ( tells ) you to or not. If not restarted IMMEDIATELY after the install the changes * MAY NOT * hold.

Also Anti-Virus may need to be temp disable.

Also if ANYTHING using Media player is loading at startup it may prevent a good install.

I Myself have never uninstalled WMP before instaling another as long as I was going with a HIGHER version.
