I have had this problem ever since installing sp2. I've since updated to version 10 but still getting the problem. It seems random, sometimes it will play the movies (mpeg 1 and 2,Xvid, DivX) and other times it casues the BSOD. Unfortunately the BSOD error message is impossible to read before the PC reboots. So if anyone knows if Windows XP stores it's BSOD error messages somewhere that would be great. Because at the moment I really don't have a clue how to fix this.

I read on the VIA website that sp2 has problems with the Via 4 in 1 AGP driver, but uninstalling this and using the Microsoft driver means my graphics card cannot take advantage of AGP * 8, which is pretty pointless having a good card that I can't use the full power of.

See the attached pic. UNchecking auto-restart shoud allow you to read the BSOD.

The Stop: 0x?? error code can used to search at MS knowledgebase.
