My operating system is Windows 7
I am running Windows Media Player 12.
Is their a setting that will allow my Media Player to open full screen every time.
Every time I select an avi file to view I have to maximize my screen each time.
Before my computer crashed every thing worked fine. I had to start from scratch and install every thing all over again so I am trying to get it back to what it was.

Right click the shortcut you use to open Media Player.

In the menu that appears, left click Properties.

In the window that opens, on the Shortcut tab, in the "Run" drop-down list, choose Maximized. Click OK.

See if that opens it full size.

I found this on a web site and it worked for me.

Based on my test on our test machine, I would like to propose you with a workaround.

Right click an opened video and click video==>check "Fit player to video "==>check 200%.

If 200% still doesn't fit the player to the full screen neither, we can manually change the VideoZoom value to 300 or above in the registry, please refer to the following steps:

Glad you found the fix. I tried the "Maximized" trick and it worked for me but, then, I seldom use Windows Media Player so that was the only idea I had. :)
