I recently purchased a new laptop w/ Windows VISTA and Windows Media Player 11.0. Many of the mp3 files "break up" - (ie, cut out for maybe a second or less on a frequent basis). CDs seem OK. I've installed the Yahoo Music Box and sound is fine when playing mp3s. Is there a repair procedure I can go thru to resolve problem w/ WMP ? Should I uninstall and re-install it? Any comments appreciated.

I'd still like some feedback if anyone has any ideas. I'm currently outside USA and have downloaded some mp3 files via internet ... and when I play them on Windows Media Player ... I get a lot of 'break up' in the audio file. When I play them using the Yahoo Music Juke Box player ... they are much better. I'm thinking uninstalling the WMP and re-installing via internet download. Does this seem logical?
