I am hoping somebody can help me with this. I've been trying to upgrade to WMP 10, but whenever I run the install I get a message that says "An unexpected error has occurred. Setup was not able to detect any Windows Media updates. Please try again later." I've tried to find information on this, but so far haven't had any luck.

FWIW, SP2 comes with Media Player 9. No biggie but I thought I'd mention it.

FYI, I've already downloaded it. It just won't install.

Launch WMP and click about and make sure it is not WMP10
Then if it is not, go to add/ remove programs / windows components / windows media player and uninstall it .
    Then try installing wmp10

I finally found out what was going on. Turns out I may not have been getting any Windows updates at all "“ at least for awhile. When I went to Windows Update, I got an error that said I needed to download an XML Parser from the Microsoft web site. After I installed that, everything worked perfectly. I was getting my automatic updates before, so it never occurred to me that something was wrong there. Thank for all the suggestions.
