Windows ME upgrade to Windows XP

    I have a laptop with Windows ME on it and it has worked good for 4 yrs now... Tonight I decided to use my Windows XP Pro upgrade disk ($140) to upgrade to XP.... I had never been asked for a user ID password under ME before,,, but after the upgrade,,,, XP asked me for it......AND I have no idea what it is... I have tried all 25 of my possible PW's... nothing. My only solution at this point is to buy and install the full version Win XP pro..........Any suggestions???

    Were you asked to insert a password during rhe upgrade process? If not try a blank password.
