okay i'm getting the blue screen. and someone else had the same error message and posted here, but his solution did not work for me.

Here is the message I get:

    Stop: c000021a {fatal system error}
The windows Logon process system process terminated unexpectedly
    With a status of 0x00000402 (0x00000000)
The system has been shut down.

and everytime i start up the computer i get the error thing about windows logon saying to send or not send... and then about an hour later comes the blue screen...

here's my info on my computer:

it is a dell inspiron laptop (as the picture says)...

so anything you can do to help me would be greatly appreciated.

    (p.s. i can't post pictures here?)

so does last known configuration delete any files?

... or does it do anything that i should know about before doing it...?

(like do i need to backup any files or anything?)

'Last Known Good Configuration' relates to System files, drivers, etc - it does not affect data files. Definition

However, you should always have an up to date backup of your data - whatever the circumstances :)

Are you running some Kaspersky software? Try updating it.

okay now i just completely wiped kaspersky off of my computer...

and i haven't gotten that "send/do not send" error about winlogon yet!

so i'm going to wait like a day and see if a blue screen comes up...

but i think this might have solved the problem, thanks.

klogon.dll is a kaspersky dll, and since your error was in
I suspected kaspersky to be the problem.

yea i looked at the dump file and saw that dll... because all dll files that start with "kl" are usually kaspersky drivers and stuff.

so yea, thanks, because i got rid of kaspersky and everything is great now.

so do you think i could reinstall kaspersky, or can i never use it again?

I'd contact their support & tell them what happpened... maybe you're not the only one, and maybe they have a solution...

okay that's a good idea... but i'm confused because i have like 4 computers on kaspersky and this one is the only one with a problem... maybe because it's the only laptop or maybe because i just updated to kaspersky version 6 (all the others are still v5)...

Probably the best thing to do is to go to Microsoft Support Services, and select an option to "open" a support request.

You can use the log file (debuglog.txt) generated to supply the needed information to start your support request.
