    Hello everyone.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit edition fully up to date. Here is my problem. When I try to sign into Windows Live Messenger version 8.1, it says, Signing into Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Error Code 80070005. :( The choices are Retry, Cancel, and Help. Hitting Retry doesn't make a difference. When I go into Tools, Options, then connection, it says, You are currently not connected to .NET Messenger Service. When I hit the connection troubleshooter it says that everything is good and my connection is working fine. I don't know why I can't sign in. On my dads Windows XP Professional computer I can sign into Windows Messenger just fine. Its just puzzling as to why I can't sign in. I think that this problem is more of a service or connection problem rather than a system issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

An update about my problem. I logged on as the Administrator and I was able to sign into Windows Live Messenger successfully. It must be that I don't have permission to sign into Windows Live Messenger using my account because I get that same error message when I attempt to sign into Messenger under my account. Is there any way that I can sign into Messenger under my account rather than having to log onto the Administrator account to sign in?

Error 80070005 is an "access denied" error. Most often its a problem with your account in your local profile. Others reporting this issue indicate that they can sign in with a different ID on the same PC and it works.

Delete & re-create your profile (if that doesn't work, try creating a new profile).

Thanks Arie. I noticed that Windows Live Messenger works on the Administrator account as well as my moms account that I have on my computer. Also most of the Windows Messenger options are grayed out when I try and configure the options under my profile. That is very strange. Its no big deal though. I can just create a new profile or I can log in as the Administrator and use Windows Messenger from there. Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate it. :D
