Is it possible to cofigure Windows Live Mail to start up at the same type as computer?

Yes - using third party freeware.

I use WinPatrol free - apart from monitoring Registry changes, etc it also has the facility to add Start up items - I would suggest a delayed start of 30 secs for WLM.

I'll do it without any software. From the Start menu, select All Programs, right-click on Startup and select Explore from the menu.

This will open an explorer window showing \Users\{Use name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Go back to the Start menu, right-click the WLM icon, drag it to the Startup folder & release the right-mouse button. From the menu that pops-up, select Create shortcut here. Done!

That is one way, of course, but I found that having Outlook start on boot slowed down the boot process and a delayed start as I suggested was the better option, especially as I run WinPatrol anyway.

IC. I never notice a slower startup & have Outlook too, but WLM isn't as data intensive as Outlook.
