windows live mail 12 - search folders

the 'search folders' appear on top and there seems to be no way to get rid of them when i right click everything is greyed out except for "open" and "choose search folders ".

theyve been there but i have no need for them. its confusing showing email from all accounts in one place.

when i choose folders, all are un-checkable, except for "unread email" is checked but greyed out.

does anyone know of anyway to fix this?

i know this is an older version but i remember having trouble finding any version to work with windows 7

 

I am using Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.0726) on 2 different PC's and checked with a friend and he is using the same on 3 PC's and brother is using the same on his. None of us have any problems.
