I receive all emails just fine but when I try to open "New" email or when I try to reply to existing email, I receive an error message. "An error occurred while trying to open this message or An error occurred when trying to reply to or forward this message ". Please help

This has only happened since yesterday when I did a System Restore to fix a problem that I was having with connecting wirelessly to the internet, which only happened after I fix a tray notification problem.

I did try to use the uninstall feature that Repairs Windows Live Essentials. It said it repair everything successfully, but no change.

    Thank You

See if you have a corrupt message store.

    • In your Start menu's search box copy/paste this: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
    • Look for the file Mail.MSMessageStore, right-click and rename to Mail.MSMessageStore.bak
    • Restart Live Mail

The Mail.MSMessageStore does have a back-up and the file will be re-created but you may not be able to view some recently received messages.

If you have web based e-mail, Windows Live Mail will sync with the mail server so they are made available again.
