okay its happening again there is this little message saying there is an update for the media player and i fell for it and the same thing happened, its not an update its an upgrade.

how do it get it stoped, the message or should i? what if it really has or needs an update.?

any ideals or could i just go back to the 10 or is that gone the way of windows 98se?

Are you or did you upgrade? Is Mida Player working OK?

Within Media Player->Tools->Option are a few settings for checking for updates...One setting is check Once a Month...

The only time you need an update (maybe) is if something is not working or want the additional "enhancments ", aside from any security patch from MS. Otherwise ignore it.

Just because there is a update/upgrade offered doesn't mean its benificial to you.

    Regards - Charles

steve and charles thanks for answering so far the player is working okay i dont particularly like it like the 10 much better it told me exactly how many gbts i had in my library this one tells me how many songs i have. with this one i could run out of space in the middle of a song!

i changed to check monthly instead of weekly for its updates. the thingie is sneaky it says that the player has a update not an upgrade (i think there is a difference)

thanks again guys for answering my post :)
