When shutting down my computer I see a Quick flash of the blue windows is shutting down screen my ususal desktop screen for about 3 seconds then the normal windows is shutting down screen. Is there a way to correct this annoyance? I just want to get rid of that flash.

If I read you right? Sorry a bit
What you are referring to is fairly normal and can vary from machine to machine. I think it's the PC closing various processes including your current desktop and wallpaper and briefly displaying a default background and shutdown screen. It can sometimes flash a bit and appear a bit messy for a second or two depending on the order that windows closes the various processes. Am I on the right track? ;)

An update of the graphics drivers may aid a little in the way the video is shutdown, as may a general cleanup and tweak followed by a defrag of the hard drive.

It has the latest graghics drivers and it's defragged on a weekly basis. Any other suggestions that you think might help will be greatly appreciated.
