This just showed up when I restart my computer. Windows installer PSprintersO8. It says I have to install a disk or something. I have no idea what this is about. It happened after I tried to uninstall and reinstall my HP Officejet 7110. It's something about a *msi file?

Can anyone help me? Please....it's driving my nuts!

    Appreciate it.

    Hi, pkl.

I Googled PSprintersO8 and came up with nothing.

Perhaps if you provide the exact message, then we can more quickly resolve your issue.

The .msi is a filename suffix for "Windows Installer Package" files.

    Windows Installer

Here is what I get when I restart my computer:

    PS Printers08
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.
Insert the PSPrinters08 disk and click ok.

    Use Source:
    1

When I try to cancel out, it keeps retrying until I get this message:
Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product PSPrinters08. The Windows Installer cannot continue.

Like I wrote previously, it didn't show up until I tried to uninstall and reinstall my HP officejet 7100 all-in-one.

Any thoughts and/or suggestions? Will appreciate it.

    Hello pkl,

    Use this tool from MS:

    Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Run the tool and in the dialog box that lists installed software, higlight only this one and have the tool remove it.

Before you use the tool, create a manual System Restore point.

    Regards - Charles

    My pleasure :)

I've seen this on other systems and it would drive me nuts too.
