    1. I have a problem with my windows genuine advantage. The problem is that the program is buggy. I would like to know how to fix the program. The reason I say that it is buggy, is because it randomly shows that my version of windows as faulty. While at other times, it shows my version as genuine. I can log out and turn off my pc several times, but sometimes when I turn my pc back on, the problem comes up. I would like to know how to fix this problem with out wiping my system clean. Uninstall it, and if need it again for MS Updates then MS Update will prompt to download and install it.

    c:\windows\downloaded program files\xxxxx
It's an activeX control. Find it and delete it.

This actually doesn't completely uninstall it, to do so you must delete or rename other specific files and delete registry keys. But deleting the activex component forces a prompt to install the compenent next time you go to windows update or try to download specific ms programs. There's also a tool you can google for called RemoveWGA.

thank you all. I was wondering how to go about doing this procedure, because of the reason Sven pointed out. I assume that, if I want to install the program, after I delete the one that is in my system which is faulty, that all I have to do is go to the ms update web site? If this is un-true, please clarify how to install this specific program after I delete it. I will follow the appointed hyperlink to the download of the removal tool specified. Thank you all again, for your help in this matter.

Hi, this is an update on this problem of mine.

I used the wga remover recommended, and my pc is fine. Although, I do want wga to work on my pc, it is fine now. No black background, no repetitive pop up in all programs for the possibility of my pc being at risk because of the validation. No delay when I turn my pc on. None of the past annoyances happened.

I went to the ms update web site and tried to download updates. Well, in short, the additional programs path worked. The wga path did not. I tried doing the wga wizard installation after shutting my pc down and back on. However, that did not work. The wga still found my pc to be faulty. Therefore, I removed it again.

I tried having ms update is automatic, but the option is not highlighted in the systems window from the control panel. In addition, the option to turn on automatic update from the "windows security center" window, which appears from left clicking on the red shield with a white "x" icon on the taskbar of my pc, does not reactivate automatic update. I assume this is because the wga on my pc is not active, and showing that my pc is good.

    Next steps requested please:

How do I remove wga completely, or find an installer, which would not look at my pc as fraudulent. I know my pc is fine, I do not want to pay for a copy of windows that I truly do not need, and the wga has run fine in the past. Therefore, I would like to know how to I get wga to work properly.

Thank you all for your time in helping with this matter. To all whom helped me thus far, I thank you. I look forward to the additional help in resolving this issue.
