 Strange one this! If I drag n drop a file or folder into another folder - windows freezes (does not even allow Ctrl-Alt-Delete!). Deleting using the 'Delete' key - windows freezes. Right clicking the recycle bin to empty it - windows freezes. However all other tasks i.e. opening folders and running files - no problem. ???
    Thnx in advance

As a you have described yourself as an "experienced" member, I assume you have tried many of the standard ways to fix or pin this down. It may be faster, for you to list those. Other wise, suggestions are more than likely going to be redundant.

What version is windows and IE and are you up to date on your updates?
How long have you waited to see if this freeze is temporary?
DragNDrop from where to where? Left click or right click?
