I am suddenly getting this blue screen message when trying to open an internet dial-up connection on either Juno or Netzero:

    Windows
A fatal exception 06 has occured at 0000:00000585.
The current application will be terminated.

I had no previous problems. I have the premiun Platinum Netzero but just the free Juno. Had problems not being able to open Netzero. Went to Juno - where the error message there stated: "your program caused a divide overflow error. "
I uninstalled and re-installed Juno - and now I get the same "blue screen" error message stated above. And I still can't connect to the internet on either connection.
So far my cable connection seems OK.

    Please advise,
    Thanks,
    Charlie

Sorry - I remembered that I forgot that - as I drove off.
I have a Sony F-540 Series Laptop w/ Win98 SE O/S w/ current Windows updates. It's a small 6GB hard drive - partitioned w/ 4GB for C. This was my "back-up" - but since my hp laptop w/ Win XP and 40GB HD died - I'm using this full time till I get money aside to fix the newer laptop. I probably overtax it - as I have been used to the other. I have so many programs installed - there isn't the free space I should have. I run 150-400MB of free C space usually. This particular problem just popped up - but I have been running on low memory for a while.

Netzero said many problems were reported from Win98 users who recently downloaded the last Microsoft security patch.
I seem to be getting on now - so perhaps they have addressed this.

    thanks,
    charlie
