    Hello,

Well, been using XP for a long time now but somehow haven't been able to solve this problem.

Q1. In normal explorer mode (any window opened in XP) the tool options does not show Folder options. Is there any other way this can be handled ???

Q2. Am using an ACER ASPIRE laptop and it came with built in MS Office which has regional language (ARABIC) installed in it as default. Have tried my level best but somehow or the other i haven't been able to change the language. The default language is againa Arabic and by default, everything starts from left-to-right. How can this be changed ???

    Thanks & Regards !

    p.s.

    a) had searched the forum but didnt find solution for any of them
    b) Qs.2 is related to language options; the reason for it to be posted on this forum.

For the missing Folder Options problems, Click Here to open a Kelly's Korner page.

On that page, scroll down to line 129 and in the left-hand column, click on "Restore Folder Options Under Tools" to download a small .reg file.

After you have it downloaded, run it according to the directions at the top of the Kelly's Korner page.

If your antivirus alerts, ignore it. The files from Kelly's Korner are safe.

Since you can't run Regedit to fix a problem in the Registry that causes Regedit to refuse to run, it make it rather difficult. Like catch 22. :)

Here's a little .vbs script that should get you going with Regedit again. You can open it and run it from the download screen or download and run it. Either way should work. It's safe so dismiss any warnings.

    EnableRegistryEditing

    HTH

Edit: Then in case you want to lock the Registry back up again:

    DisableRegistryEditing

BTW, I strongly advise you to do a thorough check of your drive for any malwares. This problem is often caused by a hi-jack of some sort.

One more strong vote that this is likely a malware issue.
