When I click on a folder in the right hand view panel, the SEARCH window opens up instead of opening the folder. If I click on a folder in the left hand view panel, it opens the folder in the right hand view panel as it should.

    I have XP Home, SP2

Click Here to open a Kelly's Korner page.

Scroll down to line 18 and in the right-hand column, click on "Search Opens When Double Clicking a Folder" to download a small .reg file.

Once you have it saved to the hard drive, run it according to the directions at the top of the Kelly's Korner page.

If you'd rather do the needed registry edits manually, open the .reg file in Notepad to see what has to be done. I like doing things the easy way, though, so I'd just run the file. ;)
