I've looked everywhere for a solution to this and haven't been able to find anything so far. I'm having this strange problem where I have all these temp files that appear on my desktop. The file names are FAP1.tmp, FAP1A.tmp, and so on. I've already deleted them from the temp folder once... there was something like 60,000 of these and they've come back since I did that. Also, whenever I try to click on anything on the desktop, I get a message saying that Windows Explorer is not responding. Whether I choose to restart or close Windows Explorer, the desktop appears to return to normal until I try to click something, and then the temp files reappear and Windows Explorer stops responding again. I had several programs update the night before I had the problem (AVG, iTunes/Quicktime, Windows, etc.). I've tried undoing the updates and/or uninstalling the programs in case any of those were the problem with no luck. Can anyone help? If any further information is needed, just let me know! Thank you!

Update: I ended up deleting all those temp files directly from the desktop instead of from the temp folder like I did last time, and so far so good. I was able to access programs from the desktop without Windows Explorer having problems. I'll have to see if everything is still ok after a restart, but hopefully it'll all be good. Still, I haven't seen a problem like this before and hopefully I won't have it again.
