Whenever my daughter uses my PC and uses ".NET Messenger Servi" (I have an eavesdrooper program running which records everything done on the PC) the next time when I boot up my PC I get an error during bootup "Windows has encountered a problem with the registry and will now restart "
I have tried scanning the harddrives, defragmenting, reinstalling Windows 98SE, uninstalling the application and installing it again all without any improvement. Failing taking the software off my PC can anyone recommend anything.
I have read a similar problem posted by another user and noted the replies (eg deleting the bavkup regsitry files) but I really don't want to do that as when I get the error the system reboots and then starts up in DOS? mode and does a registry backup or something and then asks the user to press any key to restart (again).
    Thanks in advance
    John:(

    Another possibility, Elliott.

It has been reported that the Trial version of MSN Messenger can cause this also. Uninstall the Trial version and revert to the previous version.
