I have used Windows Easy Transfer many times but this last time is a new one on me.

I have gone from XP Pro 32bit to Win 7 Pro 64bit. Everything transferred as expected however, all of the icons that came over with the transfer on my desktop and in Windows Explorer have a little red or blue dot in the lower left corner. See the attached screen shot.

It would appear that WET added these to indicate that they were part of the transfer but I have never seen this before.

Has anyone else experienced this? What do they mean? A Google search has not returned an explanation

    Thanks

No, that's not Windows Easy Transfer, but rather something else. You use Carbonite?

That looks exactly like the Carbonite screenshot in your link although, I don't see Carbonite on the XP machine and it certainly hasn't been installed on the new one.

The backup program that is installed is Genie Timeline and low and behold, it's a new feature in the latest version - I upgraded from an earlier version and it has a new interface.

    Thanks Arie
